Let me introduce myself... Hi! I'm Kristin, designer behind The Ideal Home, entrepreneur, DIYer, wife and mother of 3. I'm here with a passion and purpose to share with you!

I appreciate the challenge of bringing a space up to it's full potential... we could be talking about a bedroom, bathroom, or living room, each with unique obstacles and different outcomes, yet I truly enjoy the process. My goal is to inspire you while creating well thought out and beautiful spaces for you to enjoy for years to come. At the end of the day the one thing we all deserve is to come back to a place that you feel proud to call home.

Prior to starting my own business, I received a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design from The Art Institute of Boston followed by a Certification in Residential Design from Mount Ida College. I spent several years fulfilling my creativity by working in design showrooms and eventually taking on my most challenging role as a stay-at-home Mom to my 3 children.  During this time, one of my greatest accomplishments has been my own home. My husband and I teamed up to renovate and remodel our small beach cottage into our forever home. This allowed me to put into practice my approach of prioritizing comfort and functionality, while making practical design choices and staying on a budget; all while never sacrificing beauty, of course!
